She is very empathetic as she will often come to be near our daughter whenever she cries. Lilly and her pal Maude are with their owners until adopted. Please email cats@vipp.org to meet them.
Maude - super smart, loves to cuddle, loves to play, really indoor outdoor, maybe harder to acclimate to just indoor, very dominant female, could be ok with a dog...stands her ground, amazing ratter/mouser, black and orange tortoise shell calico, probably best with no other cats as she is dominant. Sophia Lauren
- Breed:
- DMH Black
- Sex:
- Female
- Age:
- DOB July 1999
- VIPP#:
- Sophia Lauren
Sophie was born in July 1999 and has been raised with a rottweiller (her protector) and two other cats. However, for the past two years she has been an only kitty. She's not fond of competition for her people. She was named for Sophia Lauren (because of her long wafting black fur) and she knows it! She is house trained - indoor/outdoor when needed.
She is an escape artist from collars and harnesses so I had her chipped. She is a lap cat on HER terms. If she wants in your lap then it's okay. If you just want to hold her, well..... if it suits her... However, she loves to sleep at the foot of the bed - no competition for your pillows there. She also sleeps on the floor (throw back to being raised by her rottweiller).
Needs a loving person who is willing to bring back her lovely self-assurance.
Toddette Tillie (In Foster Home)

- DOB: 2002
- VIPP#:
- Toddette Tillie
If you are looking for a snuggly, loving little kitty who will cuddle on your lap for hours on end, then look no further! “Toddette Tillie”, whose name is the result of much indecisiveness over her gender and the “perfect title” in her early life, is a completely adorable girl. With her round, luminescent green eyes and charmingly plump figure, she will wheedle her way into your heart in no time! Unfortunately, due to the fact that she was a bottle fed baby (she was found all alone at 2 days old!) she has a little bit of “social anxiety” and therefore would probably do best in a home without other cats. She also had a bad run in with a neighbor dog early on in her life, and as a result is very frightened by hyper dogs and would probably be safest in an indoors only situation. Other than that, “Toddy” is one of the sweetest little kitties you will ever meet and is very excited to find the perfect people to love her for the rest of her days! 9 Year old “Gizmo” is a peculiar little cat who is named after one of the characters in Steven Spielberg’s movie “Gremlins”, because she had such darling oversized ears as a kitten. She has very pretty, plush fur and is quite petite. Because of her rough beginnings she would do best with adults (or older kids) and sometimes has a little fear of dogs. She would be fine with a couple other cats however. Gizmo loves having her ears scratched and receiving attention, but also likes running around outside or playing with her catnip toys. Miss Chips is an amazing cat. She chose us to be her family by showing up one day. We decided to keep Miss Chips and she grew to be a very loving friend. She would hang out with me in my office all day, nap in her favorite spot and then pop outside during a sun break to lie on the warm pavers. We thought she would be with us for a long time, but unfortunately a family member began having a significant allergic reaction to her. We had no choice but to contact VIPP (thank Goodness they are there). You need to earn her trust, but when you do she loves to connect. She’s not needy, but loves to be a lap cat when the mood strikes. She likes to be brushed. She doesn’t like being picked up with your hands under her belly. We really hope she finds a great family, and that family will have a special cat in their home. More photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/86036956@N03/sets/72157631741515020/

Earl is an older kitty who was found curled up in the ivy near Lisabeulah beach by a kind and persistent dog. Dehydrated, emaciated and challenged by an untreated thyroid condition, Earl nonetheless managed to charm with his quirky personality and very cute face. He does need special attention to feeding and water as he is still adjusting to having ready access to both. Earl will need a home where he can get attention and love. He is de-clawed so he needs to be indoor only.
