Binx, who also goes by her alias, Miss Scarlet, has an interesting past with VIPP. This little girl was born in her VIPP foster home on August 16th, 2004 and named Miss Scarlet after a character from the board game, Clue. Being the darling kitten that she was, she was quickly adopted and renamed Binx. Unfortunately, when her new person could no longer care for her, she was relinquished to VIPP. It did not take long for this sweet girl to find her second home. Six weeks after Binx came back to VIPP, she was adopted a second time by a young woman who was living with her grandmother in Seattle. All was fine until the grandmother and the granddaughter each moved to a place where they could not have a cat. Binx was turned over to the Seattle Animal Shelter. She was frightened and alone and she did not show well to prospective adopters. A volunteer at the Seattle shelter found out that Binx was from VIPP originally and she called to tell us that Binx was slated to be euthanized because she was too shy to be adopted. We contacted the Seattle Shelter immediately and one of our volunteers went and picked her up and brought her back to Vashon. She is back at VIPP and she is no longer afraid and alone. After this big adventure that almost turned into a crime of murder, this little girl is ready to score a forever home with her new person. Interestingly, her brother, Professor Plum, who was adopted by a different person as a kitten was recently returned to VIPP when his owner died.

Sweet, silent Zuma – something of a stealth kitty. Zuma was found hiding under the north ferry dock, trying desperately to survive and not doing terribly well. She was rescued and brought back to health with the help of the people at VIPP – today she is healthy, happy and thriving. She is a sweet, very gentle cat – has never extended her claws while playing with humans or when romping with the pup. Zuma is the most curious kitty in the world – given the chance to explore, no box or drawer or closet or anything is beyond her abilities – and she is fascinated by the dishwasher. She will make anything into a play-toy: paper, pens & pencils, a leaf, it doesn’t matter. She’s been an indoor cat for the past year-and-a-half. Zuma loves lots of lap-time – after a few minutes she will roll over onto her back for a belly rub and promptly fall asleep. She grew up with Zeus and a pup and has been very tolerant of both, in fact her favorite curl-up place (second to her human) is snuggled up against the pup’s belly

Whisper and Rowdy are very playful and loves to snuggle, they love people, and they should be adopted together as they are very bonded after all they have been through together. They have been around my other big cats and exposed to the dogs, although the dogs are not allowed to be in the room with them because they are so small. What a pair - they are available for adoption today from their foster home. Call 389-1085 or email cats@vipp.org.

Zeke is a 12-year-old Tabby who is his own cat. He would prefer a house without dogs, but gets along with other cats once he is established. He is independent, but likes to be petted. Too much petting though, will result in a nip letting you know he is done for now. He is shy in the beginning, but will warm up to people. He would do better in a house with older kids or adults only.
We are no longer able to keep him due to pet allergies, and he does get along with the dog. His annual shots were updated in June. I will be giving you a copy of the vet record. He has received regular vet care though out his life. He appears to be healthy. (Maybe a bit overweight.)
Rudolph often looks like he has a scowl on his face but don't let that deceive you. His nature is very pleasant and has perfect manners. Rudolph has been used to being an only cat and he is tolerating the other cats at the shelter. Rudolph is a friendly boy who also in independent enough to hang out by himself.
Spruce is very handsome. He weighs in between 20 and 22 pounds on any given day. He loves to sit in my lap when he's not sleeping on the back of the couch. He would like to be an only cat and would prefer an adult household. He gets over excited sometimes and bites when he's done with you. Mostly, he's a cat who needs a place where he can be himself. THIS CAT IS BEING FOSTERED BY HIS OWNER AND IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW. contact cats@vipp.org.
