Vipp has many events throughout the year to raise money and awareness.
Weekly - Adopt a cat days To better serve the community and our sweet kitties - AACD's are now every Saturday of every month-at our new location on Old Mill Rd. 11:30-2:30. See the Adopt section of this website for directions.
February is Fix-a-cat MonthIt's the right thing to do! VIPP and Fair Isle animal clinic are offering special fees for the month of February, $15.00 to neuter and $25.00 for spay - When you spay or neuter your pet you increase their life expectancy and overall health, while helping to keep populations down. Once again this year, February is Fix-a-cat Month on Vashon.
Spring - Vashon Island Pet Protectors will hold its spring garage sale on Sat, March 13th from 9-1p.m. and Sunday, March 14th from 10-1p.m. at the Land Trust Building on Bank Road. If you are able to donate any items please drop them off on Saturday, March 6th or Sunday, March 7th from 10-3p.m. at: 17825 Beall Road or call Janice Clayton at 206-271-5693 to make arrangements that are more convenient for you. We are also accepting donations on Friday, the 12th at the Land Trust Building after 3p.m. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept: mattresses, computers, exercise equipment or large appliances.
Spring - VIPP SPRING BAKE SALE Between Thriftway and True Value Sat. April 24th 9a.m.-1p.m.
Stop by to purchase an array of goodies baked by some of the Island's best bakers. If you would like to contribute please drop off your tightly wrapped goodies after 8:30 the morning of the 24th. For more information please call Victoria 463-5381.
Plant SaleLand Trust Building. Here's your opportunity to pick up a few of our Island grown plants or, if you'd like to make a little space in your garden, contribute a few (drop off on Friday, April 23.) Summer - Strawberry Festival parade and Booth March with VIPP in the parade or just enjoy it roadside. Come to our booth and see the animals we have up for adoption, become a member, volunteer or just say hello.
VIPP 2011 Pet Calendar-Be part of VIPP'S 2011 Pet Calendar & make your pet a star. Email your pet's photo to Lisa at orangetabbyvilla@gmail.com. All are welcome-cats, dogs, pigs, goats...don't delay, photos must be received by September 10th. The FUR BALL™ - Aug 14th 5:30-10 PM at the "O" Space, Located at: 18870 103rd Ave SW Vashon 98070. This is VIPP's biggest event of the year! Tickets to the event are $25.00 in advance $35.00 day of show. They can be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/119321 or several locations around town including Pandora's Box, Fair Isle Animal Clinic, Books by the Way or Vashon Bookshop. VIPP Dog & People Walk Saturday, September 18, 2010, Burton Acres Park 9a.m.-12p.m. Come join us for a little exercise and a lot of fun at this year's Vipp Dog (and people) Walk. You don't have to find sponsors. Just come by, make a donation in suppport of Vipp and start walking anytime between 9:00a.m. and noon. Please check out "current events" to get more information on this outing.
Winter - Garage Sale:EVENT October Saturday, 9th 9-3:00PM and Sunday 10th 10-1:00 PM 2010. Location is the Land Trust Building. Donations are gratefully accepted on Friday, October 8th - the time for drop off 10AM -4PM. . Unfortunately, we're unable to accept large appliances, computers, clothes, sofa's, mattresses or exercise machines. For more information, please call Victoria 463-5381.
Holiday Wreath Sale: Friday, November 26, 12-4 PM, Saturday, 27th 10-4 PM, Sunday 28th 10-4 PM. Location: the Land Trust Building. Vipp's all volunteer crew creates locally renowned wreaths and swags from fresh fire, cedar, pinecones, holly & and assortment of bows and accessories. They're great for gifts or to dress up your home for the holidays. Wreaths and swags are $20 and up.
Vipp will also hold a pet food/care drive & could use the following items: CLUMPING cat litter, canned cat/dog food & dry cat/dog food. Please drop off any donations during the wreath sale.
Holiday Bake Sale: outside of Thriftway 9a.m.-1p.m. Date TBD. Indulge in freshly baked treats from some of the Island's best bakers while helping Vipp through this important fund raiser. If you'd like to help with the baking, please drop off your tightly wrapped & labeled baked goods after 8:30 on Saturday morning. Call Victoria 463-5381 for more information.
